GPS Wars, more playlists and Saskatoon article

Sexy Irish GPS girl says “hi boys, turn roight in 197 km” strict English GPS girl says :”turn right in 197km, you’ve been very very naughty. Reached Winnipeg after these playlists:
Andy’s playlist #2: The Streets ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ + ‘Dry Your Eyes’ were fantastic in a snowy asteroid blizzard and Stephen followed up with Ry Cooder ‘Chavez Ravine’, L Williams a new happier one, Van Morrison’s ‘Period of Transition’.
Here’s an interview with Andy in the Saskatoon Phoenix. Tour going very well, more breakfast TV in Winnipeg tomorrow.

Hi everyone – long long drives over sunny snowy Saskatchewan prairies, heading towards Winnipeg. Here are some of Rob Hamill’s photos from the Red Deer show http://www.facebook.com/album.php?fbid=1619708660710&id=1476214029&aid=2075495

F&W Breakfast TV appearance online

Hi all – Thursday morning in Edmonton, everyone blasted out of their minds on coffee and doughnuts at 7am. Great fun. I like the way they made stings & background muzak out of the album tracks. Here’s the link:

Ottawa Citizen article and Stephen’s driving playlist #1

There’s a reprint of the Calgary Herald interview today in the Ottawa Citizen here, and Stephen’s driving playlist from Prince George to Edmonton was: Alejandro Escovedo ‘A Man Under The Influence’, Robert Plant ‘Band of Joy’, Rosanne Cash ‘Can’t Remember But It Sounded Great’, Charlie Rich ‘Greatest’ and the soundtrack of the RTE series ‘Bringing It All Back Home’ – Dolores Keane and Paul Brady in particular. If it weren’t for the alligators … x A

Calgary Herald article & Andy’s driving playlist #1

Beady Eye ‘Still Speeding Different Gear’, The Ramones ‘Best of’, Nick Cave ‘Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus’, Van Morrison ‘Live at the Hollywood Bowl, Radiohead ‘The Bends’.
Intense & snow blown.

Vancouver rocked … on the road to Prince George

Vancouver was a full room of folk having fun – the show was recorded by Shore FM. A home show for Stephen (he grew up there) and even Andy has close family connections there – it was the first place he travelled to outside Northern Ireland. Now we’re on the road to Prince George. There are two turns and it’s 800km – at least! 8 hours of bad coffee, wish us well. A & S

Vancouver Province interview

On the ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay, and I should be writing about the tour but we’re having fun looking at photos of my sister’s Australian holiday … Suzy Miller who’s here for Worldvision and looking after the CDs, Stephen and myself. Someone just came up from the rockshow last night with a copy of the Vancouver Province – Stephen interviewed for the show tonight here. See you there! A

First Fearing & White sold out show. Ever. Perhaps it’s time to stop these headlines?

First Fearing & White sold out show. Ever.
I am sitting in the lobby of Paul’s hotel in Victoria. Not that I know Paul (unless he’s the jaded guy on Facebook in the lobby, sighing every few minutes with a 2 bar electric heater by his feet). It’s a beautiful sunny morning in Victoria and the show last night was tremendous. We’re still feeling our way into the songs – carefully written over the past few years and recorded in a blast last September, singing them live is another angle on them.
Last night we played Hermann’s Jazz Club. Yes, since you asked, Hermann is German and the jazz was NICE (fans of the Fast Show will understand this). An old poster of a Jaco Pastorius show in the corridor – no pressure at all on my bass playing. A jazz club packed out with fans of folk and roots we improvised like crazy and Stephen blow sax solos on his electric.
Here he comes now, gotta go … A
